"I have dedicated my life to Alzheimer's research for 30 years. Only with excellent research, personal initiative and the will for interdisciplinary cooperation will we be able to defeat this scourge of humanity," says Prof. Dr. Dr. Christian Haass (Member of the Board of Trustees) Despite all the enthusiasm, we must not forget the patients and their relatives in research who are dependent on help every day. The Hans and Ilse Breuer Foundation supports research, relatives and patients in equal measure. These are the reasons why I am only too happy to get personally involved and committed to this."

Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Dr. h.c. Christian Haass

The Hans and Ilse Breuer Foundation was established in 2000 by the entrepreneur Hans Breuer and his sons. After the death of Hans Breuer in 2002, his eldest son Peter Breuer took over the chairmanship of the board of trustees. Since then, he has been very involved with the foundation, both strategically and financially. The foundation has set itself the task of decisively improving the living situation of dementia patients and their relatives. To this end, the non-profit foundation based in Frankfurt pursues two goals: Help and research promotion – with its commitment to helping those affected and promoting basic scientific research into Alzheimer’s and other dementia diseases.
