Goals

The Breuer Foundation pursues the goal of noticeably improving the quality of life of people with dementia and relieving the burden on their relatives in everyday life. While until 2012 it mainly supported projects run by other organizations, since 2014 it has been pursuing an increasingly operational approach: with its own “Dementia Center StattHaus Offenbach”, the foundation has created a place for practical help (care), advice and encounters.

Since 2016, it has also been active as the “Hessian specialist center for the development of outpatient, self-managed residential communities for people with dementia”. Whether through its own services or through the targeted support of external projects – the focus is always on providing concrete support for those affected and their relatives.

The Hans and Ilse Breuer Foundation intends to counteract the increase in dementia related diseases, through the targeted promotion of scientific fundamental research in the field of the causes, diagnosis and treatment. Because Alzheimer’s disease can only be understood through active research and on the basis of scientific findings – and ultimately be defeated as such.
