With the dementia center „StattHaus“ the Hans and Ilse Breuer Foundation provides a central place for affected persons and for their families.

A central place for questions about life with dementia: advice and information through seminars, lectures, theme days, advice to relatives
Day care from Monday to Friday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.: Relief for a few hours for families, stimulation and stabilization for affected persons

How we see ourselves

The StattHaus considers itself as an actively supporting and accompanying on-site partner, with whose help a life with dementia can be understood and managed in all its complexity. The aim is to avoid dissociation and exclusion from normality and integration. People with dementia should be recognized as a full member of the society and be allowed to participate in their usual life according to their abilities and their individual expressions. The necessary help must be available for needs along the course of dementia.

Information and advice

Informieren und Beraten

Families receive answers to their questions and are shown possibilities for improved home care in the form of personal advice, regular information seminars or lectures on various aspects of dementia. Care

For affected people with mild to moderate dementia, the „StattHaus“ offers day care for a few hours according to §45 b SGB XI (can be financed through the nursing insurance company). Affected people who are not yet in need of care and live at home receive inspiration and can move around and feel good according to their abilities. Relatives are relieved at the same time. Care center hours are from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m.to 4 p.m. Depending on your needs, your wishes and our capacity, we will coordinate the number of hours with you.

Our care groups for people with dementia consist of a maximum of 8 people. Under the guidance of a specialist and volunteers, various activities for body and mind are carried out. Further details and costs can be found in our flyer (pdf-document).

Public café as a meeting place

A public café is available for our day guests, but also for other affected people and their relatives, neighors and inhabitants of the shared apartment. People with dementia and their family members can develop the feeling of being integrated into society and the district or at the same time relax here. Like the garden behind the house, the café serves as a meeting point for interested parties and as an event location for cultural and information offers.

Living in a dementia communal residence

Another element at the „StattHaus“ is a self-administered, outpatient-assisted residential care group, which was set up and organized under the shared responsitility of relatives, an outpatient care service and the landlord (Hans and Ilse Breuer Foundation). For this purpose, the foundation provides rooms for nine people with dementia on two floors. Habitants with dementia receive individual care and services from an outpatient care service provider, depending on their needs and level of care. In addition, relatives and volunteers (so-called sponsors) can get involved in the residential care group and support and accompany the habitants in their everyday life.
